'I came across Ciarán while looking for a personal wedding present to give to my brother and his wife.  Having seen the beautiful portraits of wedding dresses on his website, I enquired about a drawing of both the wedding dress and suit. From the very beginning Ciarán was enthusiastic about my idea and willing to try something new. Over the next few weeks he kept me updated on the progress of the piece and also gave me a variety of sketches and poses to choose from. Ciarán answered my many questions with patience and went above and beyond to accommodate me. The final piece captured the dress and suit perfectly. The attention to detail surpassed my expectations and I couldn't have asked for more. Ciarán was a pleasure to deal with from beginning to end and I wouldn't hesitate to commission another piece in the future'.

Testimonials

'One of the very pleasant tasks I undertake as Minister for Arts Heritage and the Gaeltacht is to attend and officiate at various functions at the many galleries and arts centres throughout the country.

One such event was the re-opening of the beautifully refurbished An Tain arts centre in Dundalk where I had the great pleasure of viewing the wonderful artwork of Ciarán O'Sullivan at the Double Back Exhibition. I understand that Ciarán has exhibited widely and such is the popularity of his work this was in fact his second solo exhibition in Dundalk.

Ciarán uses an amazing colour palette to create works of beautiful texture and imagery. His subjects are brought to life in a hauntingly beautiful manner while allowing the viewer to bring a little of their own interpretation to each piece.

It was indeed a great pleasure to view Ciarán's artwork and I would like to wish him well and every success in all his future endeavours'.

 Heather Humphreys, TD,

Minister for Arts Heritage and the Gaeltacht

"Ciaran O’Sullivan is a prodigiously talented painter who combines great technical skill with an ability to create mood and a note of ambiguity in his work.  We are delighted and proud to have a number of his paintings included in the Council’s Collection". - Brian Harten, County Arts Officer, Louth County Council

“I chose Ciaran O’Sullivan’s exhibition Double Back to re-launch An Táin Arts Centre because Ciaran’s work is beautiful, abstract but at the same time totally accessible to the general public. This is everything I look for in an artist’s work and is why one of Ciaran’s pieces takes pride of place in my sitting room” - Paul Hayes, Managing Director, An Táin Arts Centre, Dundalk

"This large abstract canvas (Resonant Pleasures) implies a sense of action in broad brushstrokes, and dripping paint across its painted surface. Orange  predominates and draws the eye urgently around the painting whilst holding the composition together". - The Butler Gallery, Kilkenny.
